Generally, plants give out oxygen as a by-product of photosynthesis. They also give out excess water in the form of water vapour during transpiration. Dried leaves, gums and resins are also the excretory wastes in plants.

For centuries yogis have used breath control, or pranayama, to promote concentration and improve vitality. Buddha advocated breath-meditation as a way to reach enlightenment.
Breathing exercises can help you relax, because they make your body feel like it does when you are already relaxed. Deep breathing is one of the best ways to lower stress in the body. ... The way you breathe affects your whole body. Breathing exercises are a good way to relax, reduce tension, and relieve stress.

Various ways by which seeds are dispersed are:
(i) Dispersal by wind: Light seeds or hairy seeds and hairy fruit get blown off with the wind to far away places. Examples: Sunflower, maple, drumsticks etc.
(ii) Dispersal by water: Fruits or seeds which develop floating ability in the form of spongy or fibrous outer coat are carried away with to different places. Example: Coconut.
(iii) Dispersal by animals or birds: Spiny seeds with hooks which get attached to the bodies of animals and are carried to distant places. Also, the fruits are eaten up by animals and birds and their seeds get dispersed to far away places. Examples: Xanthium, Urena, Mango etc.
(iv) Dispersal by bursting: Some seeds are dispersed when the fruits burst with sudden jerks and the seeds are scattered far from the parent plant. Examples: castor and balsam.
(v) Dispersal by human being: Humans also play an important role in seed dispersal especially during plantation and farming. They also transport fruits which also help in the dispersal of seeds.

The steps involved in getting clarified water from wastewater are as follows:
(i)Use an aerator to bubble air through the wastewater. A mechanical stirrer or a mixer can also be used in place of the aerator. This helps in reducing bad odour of the wastewater.
(ii)Then, the water is filtered through the layers of sand, fine gravel, and medium gravel. Filtration makes the wastewater clean from various types of pollutants. The water is filtered continuously until it becomes clear.
(iii)Then any disinfectant such as chlorine tablet is added to the filtrate and stirred to obtain completely clear water.

A cell is the smallest structural and functional unit of an organism. Each cell of an organism performs certain functions such as nutrition, transport, excretion and reproduction. To perform these functions, the cell needs energy. Therefore, all living organisms respire to get energy from food. The respiration involves the taking in oxygen and then eliminating the waste products from the body. The oxygen reacts with the food present in the body cells and burns them slowly to release energy.

Spore formation is one form of asexual reproduction. Spore formation is the method of developing new individuals by forming reproductive structures called spores.
*A spore is a small spherical or oval structure which protects the future individual in a thick protective covering.
*Spore germinates on a substratum under favourable conditions.
*Some organisms like ferns, some groups of fungi reproduce by spore formation.
e.g.Fungus reproduces by means of spores. Fungus like bread mould produce spores which germinate on moist organic surfaces. The cottony white mass on bread formed by fungus after spore germination is called a mould. Spores can survive in extreme conditions because of the protective hard coat.

To understand the working principle behind a fuse, two critical concepts should be kept in mind
- Current flows in a loop
- Heating effect of current
Electric current can flow through a conductor only when the circuit formed is complete. If there is a break in the loop, electric charges cannot flow through. This is also how switches operate.

Since air exerts pressure, wind blowing at a high speed may break or displace things. If holes are made in hanging banners and hoardings, then air can pass through these holes. This will reduce the pressure exerted by air on the banners and hoardings and these will not fall easily.
