Absolute references in excel do not change when copied or filled. You can use an absolute reference to keep a row and/or column constant. An absolute reference is designated in a formula by the addition of a dollar sign ($). It can precede the column reference, the row reference, or both.

An absolute cell reference is a cell address that contains a dollar sign ($) in the row or column coordinate, or both. When you enter a cell reference in a formula, Excel assumes it is a relative reference unless you change it to an absolute reference.

- Unlike the bays, the size of the Gulfs is large in most of the situations where you will find a slimmer opening or inlet.
- The bays are surrounded by less large land masses than that of the gulfs.
- The perception of the people can name a water body a gulf or bay. Due to this fact, Bay of Bengal is larger than the biggest Gulf of Mexico.
- A gulf is more enclosed by land masses as compared to a bay.
- The shape of the Gulfs is not defined as they can take any form. On the other hand, the shape of the bays is mostly oval or round.
- The term of the Gulf can be utilized to show a large difference between two people, two groups or opinions. The term of the bay can be used as verb meaning a loud barking dog.
- When the water makes inroads into the adjoining land very deeply because of the erosion of the rocks, the gulf will be created. An inward land curve is present in a bay.
