The dimensions of the rectangular tiles = 10cm × 7cm
The dimensions of the floor = 14m × 25/2m
Cost of the tiles = Rs. 5 per 100 tiles
To find,
The number of required tiles.
The total cost of the tiles.
Solution,
First of all, we have to calculate the area of a rectangular tile.
Area of the rectangular tile = Length × Breadth = 10×7 = 70 cm²
Now,we have to convert the dimensions of the following into centimetre units.
Length of the floor = 14m = 1400cm
Breadth of the floor = 12.5m = 1250cm
Area of the floor = 1400×1250 = 1750000 cm²
Required number of tiles = 1750000/70 = 25000
Cost of 100 tiles = Rs. 5
Cost of 1 tile = Rs. 5/100
Cost of 25000 tiles = 5×25000/100 = Rs. 1250
