An integer is a number that has no fractional part, and no digits after the decimal point. An integer can be positive, negative or zero. Example integers: 12 , 34 , -4 , 0. In mathematics, we represent an even integer as 2n. If 2n is an even integer, (2n + 2) and (2n + 4) will be the next two even consecutive integers. For example, let 2n be 4, which is an even integer.

Given that,
Cost of flooring per square metre = 8.50 rupees.
Total cost of flooring of room = 510 rupees
Therefore, Area of the room =510 ÷8.50 =60
there fore we know that area = length *breadth
if length of the room = 8 meteres then breadth = area/length = 60m²/8m = 7.5m

Measurement means the comparison of an unknown quantity with some known quantity. This fixed quantity is called a unit. If we go to a cloth shop to buy cloth then the shopkeeper measure the cloth by comparing it with a standard unit of length called “metre”. If the measurements of a tailor are not accurate then the stitched clothes may not fit us. This shows the importance of measurement in our daily life.
Moving Things Around Us:
We observe many a things around us. Some of them move like flying birds, butterfly and a mosquito while others do not move on their own like a table, a house, a factory, etc. If something remains at a place after some time and do not change its position then the object is said to be at rest. For example – a table.
If something or an object is not at the same place after some time and changes its position then the object is in motion. Example – the motion of an ant.
If we spread a large sheet of white paper on the ground and keep a little sugar on it, we can see the crawling of ants soon on that piece of sheet. We can observe the different positions where the ants move by marking the positions after small intervals of time.
