During the day, the land gets more heated up than the sea. Due to high temperature, an area of low pressure area is created over the land. Since the winds move from the high pressure to the low pressure areas, wind currents moves from sea to the land.
Similarly, during nights, while land cools down rapidly, sea is still warm (since water takes time in absorbing and releasing heat). Low pressure area is created over sea and high pressure area is created over the land. As already stated, winds move from the high pressure to the low pressure areas, wind currents moves from land to sea during nights.

Magnets were discovered by chance by an old shepherd named Magnes who lived in ancient Greece. Magnes used to take his herd of sheep and goats to a nearby mountain for grazing. He always took a wooden stick to manage his herd of sheep and goats which had an iron casing at its lower end. One day suddenly he felt that something was pulling his stick away from him. It appeared as if the stick was attracted by a rock and got stuck to it. He pulled hard to free the iron end of stick from the rock. This rock behaved like a magnet and was given the name ‘magnetite’.
The magnetite attracted pieces of iron towards itself. When a strip of magnetite was suspended from a thread so that it could rotate freely and aligned itself in the north-south direction.
