The Battle of Plassey was fought between the forces of the Nawab of Bengal Siraj-ud-Daulah and the English East India Company, led by Robert Clive. It was fought on 23 June 1757 at Plassey near Murshidabad. A major portion of the 50,000 strong army of the Nawab was controlled by Mir Jafar who was hand in gloves with the British. His men did not join the battle at a crucial time. As a result, the Nawab’s men suffered heavy casualties and he himself left the battlefield after the death of his commander Mir Madan. This was a major blow to the Nawab’s army which was, as a result, easily defeated by the British. Later, the Nawab himself was caught and killed, and Mir Jafar was instituted as the new Nawab of Bengal.

Starchy foods are a good source of energy and the main source of a range of nutrients in our diet. As well as starch, they contain fibre, calcium, iron and B vitamins. Some people think starchy foods are fattening, but gram for gram they contain fewer than half the calories of fat. Corn is one of the most widely consumed cereal grains. It also has the highest starch content among whole vegetables. For instance, 1 cup (141 grams) of corn kernels contains 25.7 grams of starch, or 18.2% by weight. Although it is a starchy vegetable, corn is very nutritious and a great addition to your diet.

Earth has seasons because our planet's axis of rotation is tilted at an angle of 23.5 degrees relative to our orbital plane – the plane of Earth's orbit around the sun. The tilt in the axis of the Earth is called its obliquity by scientists. We have seasons because Earth's axis – the imaginary line that goes through the Earth and around which the Earth spins — is tilted. It's tilted about 23.5 degrees relative to our plane of orbit (the ecliptic) around the Sun. As we orbit our Sun, our axis always points to the same fixed location in space.

Longitudes are known as meridians because in Geographical sense, meridians are great circles which are not parallel to each other but intersect each other at the North and the South Poles. Same stands true of the longitudes. All longitudes are great circles which meet at the Poles.

Whole numbers are a set of numbers including the set of natural numbers (1 to infinity) and the integer '0'. A whole number is called whole because it is not a mixed fraction or any rational number, but can be represented as a 'complete number'(excluding the negative integers).
Zero is the smallest whole number.
The whole number series is 0,1,2,3,4... The integers are ...,-4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4... The natural numbers are 1,2,3,4... There is no 'largest' whole number. Except 0, every whole number has an immediate predecessor or a number that comes before. A decimal number or a fraction lies between two whole numbers, but are not whole numbers.

Flowering plants :
Also called angiosperms.
These are the most successful plants on Earth as they have evolved side by side with insects.
This evolution ensures precise fertilization of the flowers by the insects.
Seeds are produced inside a protective structure such as fruit, pad or nut.
NON-Flowering plants :
They do not have flowers and do not produce seeds.
They are some of the oldest plants on Earth.
Most of the non-flowering plants spread by producing small packs of cells called spores.
Algae, seaweed, mosses, liverworts, and ferns are all non-flowering plants.

Factor, in mathematics, a number or algebraic expression that divides another number or expression evenly—i.e., with no remainder. For example, 3 and 6 are factors of 12 because 12 ÷ 3 = 4 exactly and 12 ÷ 6 = 2 exactly. ... The prime factors of a number or an algebraic expression are those factors which are prime. In multiplication, factors are the integers that are multiplied together to find other integers. For example, 6 × 5 = 30. In this example, 6 and 5 are the factors of 30. 1, 2, 3, 10, 15 and 30 would also be factors of 30.

Cotton Ginning is the process of separating the cotton fibers from the cotton seeds. Perfect ginning operation would be performed if the separation of fibers from seed was effected without the slightest injury to either seeds or to the fiber. A cotton gin is a machine that quickly and easily separates the cotton fibers from the seeds, a job previously done by hand. These seeds are either used again to grow more cotton or, if badly damaged, are disposed of. It uses a combination of a wire screen and small wire hooks to pull the cotton through the screen, while brushes continuously remove the loose cotton lint to prevent jams. The term "gin" is an abbreviation for engine, and means "machine".

An animal product is any material derived from the body of an animal. Examples are fat, flesh, blood, milk, eggs, and lesser known products, such as isinglass and rennet. Animal by-products, as defined by the USDA, are products harvested or manufactured from livestock other than muscle meat. There are many food items we get from animals. For example: fish, eggs, meat, milk, butter, and other milk products. Thus, food that we get from animals is called food of animal source. Other foods come from plants, including rice, wheat, fruit, beans and vegetables. We also eat food that animals make. For example, chickens produce eggs and cows give milk.
