a) (+56)+(-14)+(+34)+(-73)

= 56 -14 + 34 - 73

= 56 + 34 -14 -73

= 90 - 87

= 3

b) (-48)+(+12)+(-27)+(+28

= -48 + 12 -27 +28

= -48 -27 + 12 + 28

= - 75 + 40

= -35

We need to find the LCM of 45, 50 and 75 in order to find the length of a rope that can be measured by the full length of each of the three rods.

Now,

45 = 3 × 3 × 5

50 = 2 × 5 × 5

75 = 3 × 5 × 5

So,LCM (45, 50, 75)

= 2 × 3 × 3 × 5 × 5

= 450

Therefore, the required length of the rope be 450 cm

Factors of 15 =

Factors of 20 =

LCM of 15 and 20 is 60

So they will beep after 60 min =1 hour, hence it will again ring at 7 am.
