Map scale refers to the relationship (or ratio) between distance on a map and the corresponding distance on the ground. For example, on a 1:100000 scale map, 1cm on the map equals 1km on the ground.
Map scale is often confused or interpreted incorrectly, perhaps because the smaller the map scale, the larger the reference number and vice versa. For example, a 1:100000 scale map is considered a larger scale than a 1:250000 scale map.

About 2000 years ago, there was a famous physician named Charaka who wrote a book on medicine known as the Charaka Samhita. There he states that the human body has 360 bones. This is a much larger number than the 200 bones that are recognised in modern anatomy Charaka arrived at this figure by counting the teeth, joints and cartilage.

A hydrogen atom has only one atom of hydrogen and may not have independent existance but a Hydrogen molecule has two atoms of Hydrogen which has stable existance. Similarly all unstable atoms and elements have more than one atom.
