- Two solstices occur in a year. During solstices, sun rays fall directly on either of the tropics.
- Summer Solstice:
- Every year on 21st June, Northern Hemisphere is tilted towards the sun. As a result, Tropic of Cancer receives direct sunlight and areas beyond the Arctic circle till the pole experience continuous day light for 6 months. This means, it's summer time in the Northern Hemisphere at this period of time. Places in Northern Hemisphere experience longer days and shorter nights. The Southern Hemisphere experiences the exact reverse conditions. It is winter there, the days are shorter and the nights are longer
- Winter solstice:Winter solstice occurs on 22nd December every year. The Southern Hemisphere is tilted towards the sun. Thus, this hemisphere experiences summer. The Tropic of Capricorn receives direct sun rays due to which the days are longer and the nights are shorter in this area. The areas beyond the Antarctic circle experience continuous light for 6 months as it is inclined towards the sun. The conditions are exact opposite in the Northern Hemisphere.

1. Diversity means "variety" and "being different". It is a product of different geography, culture and history. Diversity is more than just tolerating the differences. It is respecting and understanding the varying differences among individuals in society.
2. Prejudice means to judge other people negatively or see them as inferior. For eg: if we think English is the best language and other languages are not important, we are judging these other languages negatively.
3. Stereotyping is setting an image about people or things based on certain characteristics or their membership to a particular group. ... We set an image of people belonging to one community and then pass on this impression to others.
4. Discrimination is when someone is treated worse than other people because of their: Gender, race, disability, colour, nationality, religion and age. When we judge people and groups based on our prejudices and stereotypes, then we treat them differently, which leads to discrimination.

Ans: sacrifice
- The Ashwamedha yajna or the horse sacrifice was a major ritual in ancient India. In this sacrifice, a horse was let loose and wandered into other kingdoms. If a king of another kingdom stops the horse, the king who set the horse free wages a war against him.
- But if the horse passes through a kingdom unharmed, the kingdom becomes a feudatory (official part) of the parent kingdom.

Ferrous sulphate crystals contain water molecules as water of crystalisation - (FeSO4. 7H2O).
On heating, ferrous sulphate crystals lose water and anhydrous ferrous sulphate (FeSO4) is formed.
Due to this, it's colour changes from light green to white.
