A vacuum tube computer, now termed a first-generation computer, is a computer that uses vacuum tubes for logic circuitry. Although superseded by second generation, transistorized computers , vacuum tube computers continued to be built into the 1960s. These computers were mostly one-of-a-kind designs.

Primary memory can be divided into two types of memory that are RAM (Random Access Memory) and ROM (Read Only Memory). RAM is both read and write memory. The data which has to be currently processed is kept in RAM which can be quickly accessed by the CPU. RAM is volatile and loses data if the power is switched off.

It can process numerical as well as non-numerical calculations. The term "computer" is derived from the Latin word "computare" which means to calculate.

People of Hardas village faced an acute problem of water shortages. Its solution was piping water or making an overhead tank in the village to increase the supply. However, it was very expensive. A better and temporary solution was to deepen hand pumps and clean the wells. Finally, permanent solutions like watershed development were suggested.
