Inamgaon is a post-Harappan agrarian village and archaeological site located in Maharashtra, western India. Situated along the right bank of the Ghod River, it is considered to be the 'regional center' of the Bhima Valley.
Inamgaon is one of the most intensively and extensively excavated and well reconstructed Chalcolithic sites of the Deccan region as well as of India so far. The moderate day Inamgaon is on the developing verge. Farming and Allied business are the prime income source for Inamgaon. The Ghod River is being conducive for the cultural and social buildings. Inamgaon has been allotted two Reservoirs & Small Dams for water storage projects by Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority. These Reservoirs & Small Dams for water storage helps to store water and ease the water availability. The settlement has all types of Preschool, Primary school & Secondary school. The New English School Inamgaon. is a secondary school. Inamgaon farmers have the capital shares in two different cooperative Sugar factory. The Shrigonda Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana and Ghodganga Sugar Factory. The industrial establishments are closer and are conducive for the villager's employment. Inamgaon is catered by a Petrol station and Social gathering hall. The settlement is being served by various National banks, however, only Pune District Central Cooperative Bank scores the presence. The united capital shares of villagers and Pune District Central Cooperative Bank support have established Cooperative society, which, indeed contributes to needy farmers to have monitory support when requires. This Cooperative society governing body is formed by elective people by the villagers.

Usually adults were buried at this site. The dead body was laid straight; with the head facing towards north.
Some of the burial was done inside the house. People used to place vessels along with the dead. The vessels probably contained food items.
From one of the sites; a four-legged jar had been found. A skeleton was inside that jar. The jar was placed in the courtyard of a five-room house. This was among the largest houses at the site. A granary was also present in the house. The man was laid to rest in a cross-legged position. Historians guess that it must have been an important and rich person. The person could have been a rich farmer or the head of the village.
Remains of wheat, barley, lentils, millets and sesame have been found from the Inamgaon site. Remains of various animals have been found; like cattle, buffalo, goat, sheep, dog, horse, ass, pig, sambhar, spotter deer, blackbuck, antelope, hare and mongoose. Remains of birds, crocodiles, turtles, crab and fish have also been found from this site. Many animal bones show cut marks. This suggests that these animals were used as food.
