the length of day and night would be exactly equal, over the whole planet. There would be no seasons, just one average of the current four. Weather patterns would be very different; much more uniform.

These and other changes in the oceans and atmosphere would result in tremendous and unpredictable changes in conditions on the earth's surface including shifts in the oceans' levels and changes in the location and extent of arid as well as tropical areas.

Many maps include a grid pattern, or a series of crossing lines that create squares or rectangles. The grid helps people locate places on the map. On small-scale maps, the grid is often made up of latitude and longitude lines. Latitude lines run east-west around the globe, parallel to the Equator, an imaginary line that circles the middle of the Earth. Longitude lines run north-south, from pole to pole. Latitude and longitude lines are numbered. The intersection of latitude and longitude lines, called coordinates, identify the exact location of a place.

On maps showing greater detail, the grid is often given numbers and letters. The boxes made by the grid may be called A, B, C, and so on across the top of the map and 1, 2, 3, and so on across the left side. In the map’s index, a park’s location might be given as B4. The user finds the park by looking in the box where column B and row 4 cross.

Translation is the process of converting a text from one language to another. It is not, however, just a matter of a mechanical conversion of words: an accurate translation requires complete understanding of the original text on the part of the translator, who must 'render' it into the target language.

Ans. Farming requires a great deal of hard work. Small farmers along with their families cultivate their own fields. But midium and large farmers hire farm labourers to work on their fields.

They provide labour for farming activities. Farm labourers come either from landless families or families cultivating small plots of land. Unlike farmers, they do not have a right over the crops grown on the land. They are paid wages by the farmer in the form of cash or in kind e.g. crop.

A farm labourer might be employed on a daily basis, or for a particular farm activity like harvesting, or for the whole year.

The khasra record of the Patwari gives you information regarding the plot of land owned by the people. The Patwari is the kingpin in the land record system in the villages. On the Khasra map, one could see the exact shape and size of every field, every well and every large tree. Every field is numbered and the khasra records the name of the actual cultivator, the one who was in physical possession of the field.

Giant pandas are becoming extinct due to extensive habitat loss and destruction by hunters. Habitat loss destroys bamboo, which is the giant panda's sole food source. It also isolates pandas causing a reduction in the rate that mating and reproduction occurs. Poachers kill only a few pandas each year, but hunters of other animals in the area accidentally kill pandas on a more regular basis further reducing their numbers.

Also, he encouraged people to think for themselves rather than to simply accept what he said.
