- Animals moved from place to place, and hence, this made the hunter-gatherers to move along with them for hunting them down.
- Plants and trees bore fruit in different seasons. Thus, people had to move season to season to find different kinds of plants.
- Plants and animals needed water to survive. Although most of the water bodies (lakes, ponds and streams) were perennial, some were seasonal. Thus, people living on the banks had to go in search of water during the dry seasons.

Human ancestors traveled in all directions, constantly in search of abundant food resources and new places to inhabit. Scientists believe there were numerous migratory routes out of Africa by human ancestors but the latest migration by Homo sapiens is thought to have occurred in the last 60,000-100,000 years. Needless to say, the earliest people were hunter-gatherers. Because they lived out in the open, they had to hunt other animals, gather plants and fruits to produce food. Animals in that period were very fast and quick. ... As gatherers, they had a good knowledge of the plants and fruits.
