The dynasty expanded into India's southern regions by the reign of the emperors Chandragupta and Bindusara, but it excluded Kalinga (modern Odisha), until it was conquered by Ashoka. It declined for about 50 years after Ashoka's rule, and dissolved in 185 BCE with the foundation of the Shunga dynasty in Magadha.

1. By the seventh century, there were lots of big landlords and warrior chief, who were working as subordinates or samantas for their kings.
2. They were supposed to bring gifts, be presents in the court and support the king with their army.
3. But sometimes they asserted their independence from their kings. Rashtrakutas were one of them.
4. Rashtrakutas were initially subordinate to the Chalukyas of Karnataka. In the mid-eighteenth century, Dantidurga, a Rashtrakuta chief, overthrew his Chalukya overlord and established his right to rule by performing the hiranya-garbha ritual.
5. Performing this ritual with the help of a brahmana was thought to lead to the rebirth of the sacrificer as a Kshatriya.

Upanishad literally means 'approaching and sitting near', as pupils used to sit near a guru in the ashrams.During the times of Buddha and in earlier times, many thinkers tried to find answers to some difficult questions. Their ideas about the concept of the atman or the individual soul, and the Brahman or the universal soul and ideas about life after the death were recorded in the Upanishads. Upanishads were a part of the later Vedic texts.

Cartographic signs and symbols on maps help us to understand the topography of land, the green cover or other features such as average elevation of land, average temperatures, relative distance etc.
These signs and symbols enrich the information available on map, which are used by geographers, researchers etc. Without this information, it would be a plain map which cannot be used for relative purposes by the user.

One of the most famous map projections is the Mercator, created by a Flemish cartographer and geographer, Geradus Mercator in 1569. It became the standard map projection for nautical purposes because of its ability to represent lines of constant true direction. The Robinson projection is unique. Its primary purpose is to create visually appealing maps of the entire world. It is a compromise projection; it does not eliminate any type of distortion, but it keeps the levels of all types of distortion relatively low over most of the map.

Lady Justice holds balance scales, which represent the weighing of evidence;weighs the factors of a case to render a verdict. The scales imply a mechanistic, rational process; too much weight (evidence) on one side will cause the scales to tilt in favor of innocence or guilt.
