Clouds are formed when warm and moist air rises up, cools and then expands in the atmosphere. The water vapor in the air condenses to form tiny water droplets which form the basis of clouds.

A curved line or surface cannot be measured by a straight scale, a measuring tape or thread must be used instead.To measure a curved line using a thread, follow the below steps:
- Tie a knot at one end of the thread.
- Place the thread at the beginning of the line and try to measure a small initial portion of the line which is relatively straight.
- Place your thumb at the other end of the measured portion and measure next straighter portion.
- Repeat the above step till the end of line is reached. Make a knot at the end of the line.
- Now, straighten the thread and measure the length of the two knots on a scale.

- Leaves of some desert plants are modified into spine-like structures. This helps in preventing water loss by way of transpiration.

A cactus is able to survive in the desert as it is adapted to the hot and humid conditions of the desert. To survive in a desert, the cactus has the following adaptations:

The human ear is an organ whose primary function is to hear a sound and to detect and analyze noise by transduction (sound waves are converted into the electrical impulses). In some mammals, it is also used for the sense of balance. There are three parts of ear – the outer ear, middle ear and the inner ear. The outer ear consists of pinna and ear canal.
