The cotton favorite, sandy loam, is silt and clay that contains some sand. Loamy sand contains some silt and clay. In addition to those soils, cotton fares well in soil that's gray on top with yellow clay underneath.

Autotrophs: Those organisms which can make food themselves from simple substances like carbon dioxide and water by the process of photosynthesis are called autotrophs. All green plants are autotrophs. Carbon and energy requirements of the autotrophic organism are fulfilled by photosynthesis. The process by which green plants make their own food (like glucose) from carbon dioxide and water by using sunlight energy in the presence of chlorophyll is called photosynthesis.

sprouted seeds.

Explnation:

Normal seed is in dormant condition and energy is stored in most complex form within smallest volume. In sprouted seed, all complex ingredients change to simple forms like starch to simple sugars, protein to amino acids which are immediately utilized for fast growth.

So, sprouted seeds give more energy as compared to normal seeds.

The earth's atmosphere consists of different gases and many type suspended particles. When the light from the sun falls on the molecule/ particles in the atmosphere, then it gets scattered in all directions. The scattered light consists mainly of blue colour, as the wavelength of blue colour and molecules in earth's atmosphere are of nearly same size.

No, all living beings do not need same kind of food. As we know that different living organisms have different eating habits according to their structures, requirements, habitats, etc. They may be herbivores (eat only plant products), carnivores (eat other animals) or omnivores (eat both plants and animals). Humans consume everything from fruits, flowers, even the stem of some plants, leaves and stem-like lettuce, celery, roots of some plants like carrots, beetroot, and seeds like wheat, rice, etc. All food comes from plants, even the animals depend on plants. Hence, we obtain food from plants directly or indirectly.

Trees growing on mountains have shapes to allow snow to slide off easily.

There are a large variety of plants and animals found in mountains having some common adaptations to survive in mountains.

The trees can survive in extremely cold and windy mountain habitats due to the following adaptations:

  1. The trees in mountain habitats are usually cone-shaped having sloping branches. This makes the rain water and snow to slide off easily without damaging the branches and leaves.
  2. They have small, needle-like leaves due to which they lose very little water during windy conditions as the water remains frozen in the form of ice and is not available to the roots of the plants.
  3. The needle-like leaves are covered with a thick waxy layer called cuticle to reduce the loss of water through transpiration.
  4. The broad-leaved trees shed their leaves before the onset of winter which prevents losing water from their leaves and helps in their survival when the water is frozen in soil and not available to the roots.
