Milk is converted into curd or yogurt by the process of fermentation. Milk consists of globular proteins called casein. The curd forms because of the chemical reaction between the lactic acid bacteria and casein. During fermentation, the bacteria use enzymes to produce energy (ATP) from lactose. When some acidic substance like lemon juice or vinegar is added to milk, the milk protein gets tangled into solid masses called as curd. The water separated out is known as whey and which is drained off to retain only the curd. This process of milk coagulating to form curd is known as curdling.

Jute plants are cut at the time of flowering stage because a good quality of fibre is obtained at this stage. On complete maturation of plant, fibres of its stem become very hard. Jute plants are harvested at the flowering stage. The stems are cut close to the ground and are then tied into bundles and soaked in water for a few days. This method of soaking is called retting. It softens the tissues and permits the fibres to be separated.

Sieving is used to separate those mixtures which have components of different sizes. In this process, the mixture having components of different sizes are put in a sieve and the sieve is moved back and forth continuously. The smaller particles pass through the holes of the sieve and collect in a vessel kept below. The bigger particles remain behind in the sieve.

Examples of sieving:

  1. The sieving of flour is done to remove the coarse particles of flour (wheat bran) from it so as to obtain fine flour to make chapattis.
  2. In a flour mill, the impurities from the wheat are removed by the process of sieving before grinding it.
  3. Fine sand is obtained by the method of sieving to mix in cement for plastering walls of a house.

Conductors are materials that permit electrons to flow freely from particle to particle. ... Conductors allow for charge transfer through the free movement of electrons. In contrast to conductors, insulators are materials that impede the free flow of electrons from atom to atom and molecule to molecule. The most common difference between the two is that while conductors allow free flow of electrons from one atom to another, insulators restrict free flow of electrons. Conductors allow electrical energy to pass through them, whereas insulators do not allow electrical energy to pass through them.

Meghna Thapar 5 years, 6 months ago

An electrical conductor is a substance in which electrical charge carriers, usually electrons, move easily from atom to atom with the application of voltage. Conductivity, in general, is the capacity to transmit something, such as electricity or heat. Copper, steel, gold, aluminum, and brass are also good conductors. They conduct electricity because they allow electrons to flow easily inside them from atom to atom. Conductors have free electrons on its surface which allow current to pass through easily. This is the reason why conductors are able to conduct electricity.

The major nutrients in our food are carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals. In addition, food also contains dietary fibres and water. Carbohydrates and fats mainly provide energy to our body. Proteins and minerals are needed for the growth and the maintenance of our body.

f a jute plant is allowed to grow after the flowering and and then harvesting is done after ripening of seeds, the fibre will be stronger but quality of fibre will be very coarse and it lacks the characteristic lustre and elasticity.During the flowering stage the stem of the jute plant has more of fibres. These fibres are separated by non fibrous matter by hand the process is known as stripping. After obtaining fibres, they can be spun into yarns and fabric can be made from these yarns.
