Locomotion of earthworm is the outcome of muscular actions in them. Continuous expansion and contraction of muscles help them to move. Hence, earthworms make small moves using muscles alone.
Snails have a characteristic shell on their back. The hard external shell is a non-bony structure called exoskeleton. It doesn’t help in movements but is a shield from predators and damages.
Fish is an aquatic animal adapted to live in water. Fish have a streamlined body structure which help them to move smoothly with the flow of water. Muscles and fins on the body and tail help keep the balance.

In the atmosphere, air consists of 78 percent of nitrogen gas. Nitrogen is an odorless, colorless gas symbolized by the letter N on the periodic table. Every cellular component is made up of nitrogen as one of the major components. All living organisms including plants, animals, humans and even microorganisms use nitrogen for their life processes. Despite all these, the concentration of nitrogen in the atmosphere is still 78 percent, although it is continuously being consumed.

Earthworm is a small annelidan which mostly lives in the soil. Earthworms are small worms which can move easily on hard surfaces. Earthworms move with help of tiny, stiff hair-like projections called bristles. Every body segment of the earthworm possesses setae which help in their movement. Setae get firm hold on the ground. Earthworms move forward by repeated contractions and relaxations of their muscles in the skin. A slimy substance secreted by the earthworm helps in its movement.
