Story Of Transport: In earlier times, people travelled and carried goods from one place to another on foot or on animals. They may travel on horsebacks and camel backs, etc. Sometimes they used boats for transport along the water routes. Initially the boats were simple logs of wood in which a hollow cavity was made to carry goods and people. Later on they learnt to join together planks of wood to make boats having streamlined shapes.

Simple machines are devices with no, or very few, moving parts that make work easier. Examples: i. The lever consists of a long beam and a fulcrum, or pivot. The mechanical advantage of the lever depends on the ratio of the lengths of the beam on either side of the fulcrum. ii. The inclined plane is simply a flat surface raised at an angle, like a ramp. iii. A screw is essentially a long incline plane wrapped around a shaft.

A switch can be made by using two drawing pins, a safety pin, two wires and a small sheet of thermo Col or a wooden board. A drawing pin is inserted into the ring at one end of the safety pin and fixed on a thermo Col sheet. The safety pin can be rotated freely. The other drawing pin is fixed on the thermo Col sheet in such a way that the free end of the safety pin can touch it. The safety pin fixed is used as a switch. A circuit can be made by connecting an electric cell and a bulb with a switch.

An electromagnet can be defined as a magnet which functions on electricity.

Electromagnets are made out of a coil of wire (wire curled in series). This is more effective in producing a magnetic field than just a wire running straight. This effect can be strengthened by winding a wire tightly around a powerful core, made of magnetic material, such as iron.

An eclipse occurs when a celestial object such as moon moves directly into the shadow of another celestial object. For example, during a solar eclipse the moon comes between the earth and the sun due to which the sun was blocked for a brief period of time and people on Earth cannot see it.Lunar eclipse occurs when the moon is partially or completely hidden. From the above image we can see that a lunar eclipse happens when the earth, while moving around its orbit around the sun, comes between the sun and the moon. The earth blocks the light of the sun from falling on the moon and shadow of the earth falls on the moon (see the above image). This phenomenon is called lunar eclipse.

Vigyan make a simple switch by using a small sheet of thermocol to drawing pins safety pin and two pieces of wire this can be done as follows insert a drawing pin into the small ring at one end of safety pin and fix it one of the thermal sheet as shown in in make sure that the safety pin can be rotate freely around the fixed drawing pin also tied one end of a piece of wire around the drawing pin as shown now fix the second drawing pin on the thermocol sheet at such a distance from the first drawing that the tree and of safety pin can touch it when the safety pin is turned a piece of wire is also tired around the second drawing pin so now we have a safety pin to one end is fixed drawing pin and the other end of tree is turned so as to touch the second drawing paint when the safety pin arrange in this way is connected in circuit it behaves like a switch to open the circuit or closed the circuit as desired

Desert plants are well adapted to the harsh conditions. Due to water scarcity, they need to conserve water. Some of the desert plants have very small leaves whereas some have only spines to reduce water loss through the process of transpiration. This adaptation helps the plants to conserve water.

General Relativity theory developed by Einstein in the year 1907-1915 states that being at rest in the gravitational field and accelerating are identical physically. For example, an observer can see the ball fall the same way on the rocket and on Earth. This is due to the acceleration of the rocket which is equal to 9.8 m/s2.
