If the number is XY, what we are looking for, here, is 10X + Y + 27 = 10Y + X.
Therefore, 9X + 27 = 9Y, which is,
X + 3 = Y.
Since there are 2 variables and only one equation, we are going to have many answers.
Indeed, if we take X as 1 then Y is 4. So 14 is one of the answers, since 14 + 27 = 41, which is what is required (Reversal of Digits).
Similarly, we have numbers like 25, 36, 47, 58 and 69 as other answers. It’s easy to see that after adding 27 to each, we get 52, 63, 74, 85 and 96 respectively.
Thus there are 6 answers Viz. 14, 25, 36, 47, 58 and 69.
