Diversity means "variety" and "being different". It is a product of different geography, culture and history. Diversity is more than just tolerating the differences. It is respecting and understanding the varying differences among individuals in society.

Diversity basically means a variety. This variety can be in numerous things for example, diversity of culture, which means a variety in culture or different types of cultures. It can also mean diverse food, means a variety of food. Thus, to be diverse means to have variety of different types. Diversity means having a range of people with various racial, ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds and various lifestyles, experience, and interests. Diversity to me is the ability for differences to coexist together, with some type of mutual understanding or acceptance present.
