HCF of any two consecutive even number is 2.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

H. C. F. of any two consecutive even numbers = 2

Step-by-step explanation:

Let 2n,(2n+2) are two consecutive even Numbers.

2n = 2×n

2n+2 = 2(n+2) = 2×(n+2)

HCF(2n,2n+2)= 2

 Product of the smallest power of each common prime factors of the numbers

Therefore,

H. C. F. of any two consecutive even numbers = 2

What is the H C F Of two consecutive Odd number is always 1

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

HCF of two consecutive odd numbers is always one 1.

Let suppose two consecutive odd numbers e.g. 15 and 17

15=1×3×5

17=1×17

Between their factors 1 is common so their highest common factor HCF is 1.

Let suppose another consecutive odd numbers e.g. 199 and 201

199=1×199

201=1×3×67

Hence their HCF is also 1.

What is the H C F of two consecutive even numbers

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

The H.C.F of two consecutive natural numbers always will be '1'.

Solution:

H.C.F of two consecutive numbers:

Let us assume that the two consecutive numbers are 8 and 9.

We know that the Factors of 8 and 9 are

8= 1, 2, 4 and 8.......... (1)

9=1, 3 and 9.............. (2)

Therefore,

From (1) and (2),

We can say that the H.C.F of two consecutive numbers 8 and 9 and their common factor is always 1.

The H.C.F of two consecutive natural numbers always will be '1'.

On the number line, whole number 56789 is on the left of 98765. Because 98765 is greater than 56789 i.e. 98765 > 56789.

First,we will take one even number anf one odd number for example: Odd no. =5 Even no. =4 Sum of odd and even no.=9 So,the sum of 1odd and even number is odd.

Gaurav Seth 5 years, 4 months ago

The sum of any two odd numbers is always an even number.

For example :

Consider two odd numbers are 9 and 17.

The sum of 9 and 17 is 26 which is an even number.
