It is very important for every individual to respect his/ her elders. It is also important to note that elders were not born elders they were kids like you and now grown up old. Few years hence you will also grow older.
If today you will respect your elders your present and future generations will carry those values and will learn to respect you as well when you will grow old.
Elders have a lot to share with you- their life experiences (good and bad), their 1st job, their 1st love, their mistakes, their discoveries, their success and much more.
They have lived up things that you could hardly imagine. They have achieved everything without much comfort such as cell phones and computers like you. They are amazingly interesting, intelligent & strong human beings who have experienced various hardships in life in the real sense.
Elders feel honored when you appreciate them and offer assistance to them. It is our duty to help them when needed because they are old now and are incapable to handle things on their own like before. You should always help your elders like holding groceries and opening a door to show sign of respect.
Unfortunately now days elder people in our society are not seen with much respect. They are unable to get the love, affection and respect that they truly deserve. It’s high time that we should awaken our soul to fell the importance of our elders in our lives. It’s really difficult for us to imagine life without elders.
Reasons why you should respect your elders-
I. They love you unconditionally & you owe everything in return of their love and kindness.
II. They try to incur strong moral values in you to make you a better human being.
III. They are much more experienced than you in terms of age, education, wisdom & maturity.
IV. They deserve it because they have bought you up facing many hardships in life.
V. They have already been through the phases you are experiencing today & know more about this world than you.
VI. They have so much to offer you be it guidance, good counsel or ways to lead a better successful life.
VII. They are a treasure of historical information and giving respect can help you to maintain a better communication with them to achieve such knowledge.
VIII. Respecting your elders can help you to instill moral values in the generation of your age and below that which can help you to stay respectful when you are at their age.
IX. Our religion teaches us that what we give we receive it back someday.
X. They are also human like you.
