UV (Ultra Violet rays)
Too much UV radiation from the sun or sunbeds can damage the genetic material (the DNA) in your skin cells. If enough DNA damage builds up over time, it can cause cells to start growing out of control, which can lead to skin cancer.

When added to food, the saliva moistens the meal and helps produce a nutritious bolus that can be quickly swallowed. There’s also an essential enzyme amylase that is found in saliva & includes separating maltose and dextrin from starches. The role of saliva in the digestion of food is
- It moistens the food for easy swallowing.
- It contains a digestive enzyme called salivary amylase, which breaks down starch into sugar.
- It generates around 1.7 litres of saliva daily.
