Germination is the process of seeds developing into new plants. ... When water is plentiful, the seed fills with water in a process called imbibition. The water activates special proteins, called enzymes, that begin the process of seed growth. First the seed grows a root to access water underground.
Seeds wait to germinate until three needs are met: water, correct temperature (warmth), and a good location (such as in soil). During its early stages of growth, the seedling relies upon the food supplies stored with it in the seed until it is large enough for its own leaves to begin making food through photosynthesis.

The scattering or spreading of seeds to different places is called seed dispersal.
If all seeds of a plant fall under the parent plant they will grow crowded together and many will die because of lack of space or air, water, sunlight and minerals. Therefore, it is better seeds getting scattered far and wide and have a better chance of growing in a suitable place without over crowding. dandelion seed dispersal

That means the light hitting your eye tonight has been traveling for 8.6 years. Put another way: When you look at Sirius tonight, you see it as it was 8.6 years ago.

The definition of air pressure is the force exerted onto a surface by the weight of the air. An example of air pressure is the average sea-level air pressure of 101.325 kPA. The standard, or near-average, atmospheric pressure at sea level on the Earth is 1013.25 millibars, or about 14.7 pounds per square inch. The gauge pressure in my automobile tires is a little more than twice that value. Air pressure is caused by the weight of the air molecules above. Even tiny air molecules have some weight, and the huge numbers of air molecules that make up the layers of our atmosphere collectively have a great deal of weight, which presses down on whatever is below.

In scientific terms, a food chain is a chronological pathway or an order that shows the flow of energy from one organism to the other.
