Female mosquitoes searching for a meal of blood detect people partly by using a special olfactory receptor to home in on our sweat. Mosquitoes searching for a meal of blood use a variety of clues to track down humans, including our body heat and the carbon dioxide in our breath. Mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon dioxide humans and other animals emit. They also use their receptors and vision to pick up on other cues like body heat, perspiration and skin odor to find a potential host.

Vomiting and loose motion cause dehydration. Hence, the intake of fluids to maintain the electrolytes is balanced. Oral rehydration therapy (ORT) is a type of fluid replacement used to prevent and treat dehydration, especially due to diarrhoea. - Petroleum is formed from the remains of dead plants and animals.
- When plants and animals die, they sink and settle on the seabed.
- Millions of years ago, these dead wildlife and vegetation decomposed and got mixed with sand and silt.
- Certain bacteria helped in the decomposition of this organic matter and caused some chemical changes.
- Matter consisting of largely carbon and hydrogen was left behind. However, as there is not sufficient oxygen at the bottom of the sea, the matter could not decompose completely.
- The partially decomposed matter remained on the seabed and eventually was covered with multiple layers of sand and silt.
- This burying took millions of years, and finally, due to high temperature and pressure, the organic matter decomposed completely and formed oil.

Human respiratory system: The human respiratory system begins from nose cavities called nostrils. The air from cavity enters into the pharynx and then into the trachea (or wind pipe). The trachea runs down the neck and divides into two tubes called bronchi. Each bronchi is connected to a lung. In the lungs each bronchi divides into a large number of thin tubes called bronchioles. The bronchioles have a tiny air sac at their ends called alveoli. It is in the alveoli where exchange of gases takes place.
Mechanism of breathing:
Now, the air present in air sacs of the lungs is rich in C02. When we breathe out air, the diaphragm relaxes which results in the decrease in volume of chest cavity. This contraction pushes the air from the lungs into the trachea, nostrils and then out of the body into air. Breathing in air is called inhalation and breathing out air is called exhalation.
