An earthquake is a sudden shaking movement of the surface of the earth. It is known as a quake, tremblor or tremor. Earthquakes can range in size from those that are so weak that they cannot be felt to those violent enough to toss people around and destroy whole cities.

Fire needs three things to burn. It needs oxygen, fuel and heat. When you blow on a candle you are providing oxygen, your exhaled breath has about 16% oxygen, still enough to support combustion.The fire melts the wax, and that again is pumped into the wick and turned there into combustible gas.

Measures which can be taken to conserve forests and wildlife are:
- The unauthorized cutting of forest trees for timber trade and fire-wood should be stopped immediately.
- In case of Government authorized felling of trees, for every acre of forest cut down, an equal area of land should be planted with saplings of trees to make up for the loss in long run.
- The natural habitats of wild animals should be preserved by establishing conservation areas such as Biosphere Reserves, Wildlife Sanctuaries and National Parks.
- A total ban should be imposed on the poaching or capturing of any wild animal or bird.

Similarities between Bhaskar Bhai’s farming and jhoom farming:
In both these methods of farming the manures prepared in the factories are not used. Rather, the natural manures formed automatically in the farms itself is used.
The differences between the two farming is Bhaskar Bhai used plant waste like dead and rotten leaves, stem, roots etc. to make manure. He dumped them in a pit and allowed to decompose. This automatically got converted into manure. Further the earthworms also formed small pits in the soil and make it soft and ready for farming.
Whereas in Jhoom farming, the weeds are burnt in the field and the ashes are mixed with the soil which acts like a manure. Moreover, the land is not ploughed but shallow trenches are made in the soil in which the seeds are sown. Mixed seeds of various crops like maize, paddy, chillies, vegetables, etc are sown.

The soil is formed by weathering or disintegration of parent rocks by physical, chemical and biological agents. It is a slow process and takes thousands of years. This physical and chemical decomposition is primarily done by wind, water, and climate. As a result of these processes, large rock pieces are converted into smaller pieces and eventually to soil. Living organisms such as lichens, insects, microorganisms make soil ready for the plants to grow. The growth of roots of plants further adds to the weathering of rocks and thus forms soil.

We should use petrol and diesel judiciously because they are non-renewable resources. Petrol and diesel are derived from the fossil fuel petroleum. For fossil fuels it takes thousands of years to form. So, if petroleum is exhausted or finished then it would take a long period of time for it to form again. that is why we are said to use petrol and diesel judiciously.
