Any peripheral device that is not housed inside the computer cabinet. Monitors, keyboards, mice and printers are inherently external devices; however, drives, network adapters and modems may also be external. See external drive, external modem and USB adapter. There are two main types of external hard drives, portable and desktop. Primary External Storage is one that is accessible by the user but still part of the built-in memory. That's where you store your photos, documents, and other data even though when you don't have an SD card installed. In short, your phone's built-in memory is divided into two parts.

When it comes to the topic of women in science, Marie Curie usually dominates the conversation. After all, she discovered two elements, was the first women to win a Nobel Prize, in 1903, and was the first person to win a second Nobel, in 1911. But Curie was not the first female scientist.

Scientists from RMIT University in Australia and Wuhan Institute of Technology in China have developed a radical new high-capacity optical disc called “nano-optical long-data memory” that they say can record and store 10 TB (terabytes, or trillions of bytes) of data per disc securely for more than 600 years. CDs can store up to 700 megabytes (MB) of data, and DVDs can store up to 8.4 GB of data. Blu-ray discs, which are the newest type of optical media, can store up to 50 GB of data. This storage capacity is a clear advantage over the floppy disk storage media (a magnetic media), which only has a capacity of 1.44 MB.
