The desert oak tree (Allocasuarina decaisneana) is a majestic looking tree reaching up to 12 metres in height, when mature. It has a thick, dark brown bark, that is deeply fissured. The trees are often found in dense stands or forest, in arid desert region, often between red sand dunes

Rebo is a big tent (shelter) which protects changpas (nomadic people residing in Ladakh and Jammu and kashmir) from extreme cold environment. Changpas live in rebos alongwith their herds of cattle. Changpas live in a big cone shaped tent called Rebo.

A Dai bamboo house is a type of stilt building primarily constructed of bamboo and are the traditional form of housing for Dai people. The lower floor was about seven or eight feet high. Horses and oxen were hitched to the posts. There was a terrace near the upper stairs, which turned into a large long room.
