Herbivores eat mainly plant material and are generally but not always near the bottom of the food chain. Carnivores eat mainly meat, other animals and/or insects and tend to be at the top of the food chain, though not always. Omnivores are able to eat both. Humans are omnivores.

On the basis of their size and the type of stem, most of the plants are classified into three types – herbs, shrubs and trees.

Herbs are non-woody plants with green and tender stem. They are small in size and have a short life-span. They do not have branches and may live for one or two seasons. Examples – tomato, radish, carrot, wheat, paddy, cabbage, ginger, turnip, etc.

Each of these groups provide different nutrients and should be consumed at a different rate. The main sources of our food are Plants and Animals. Plants are the sources of food ingredients like grains, cereals, vegetables and fruits. Animals are the another source which provide us with milk, meat products and eggs.

Leaves are colored by molecules called pigments. The pigment that causes leaves to be green is chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is important for plants to make food using sunlight. ... As chlorophyll goes away, other pigments start to show their colors. The leaves of most plants are green, because the leaves are full of chemicals that are green. The most important of these chemicals is called “chlorophyll” and it allows plants to make food so they can grow using water, air and light from the sun.

The three pigments that color leaves are:

  • chlorophyll (green)
  • carotenoid (yellow, orange, and brown)
  • anthocyanin (red)

The eye is a region of mostly calm weather at the center of strong tropical cyclones. The eye of a storm is a roughly circular area, typically 30–65 km (20–40 miles) in diameter. It is surrounded by the eyewall, a ring of towering thunderstorms where the most severe weather and highest winds occur. The eye is so calm because the now strong surface winds that converge towards the center never reach it. The coriolis force deflects the wind slightly away from the center, causing the wind to rotate around the center of the hurricane (the eye wall), leaving the exact center (the eye) calm.
