2x2 - 7x + 3 = 0
Comparing quadratic equation 2x2 - 7x + 3 = 0 with general form ax2 + bx + c = 0, we get a = 2, b = -7 and c = 3
Putting these values in quadratic formula {tex}x = \frac { - b \pm \sqrt { b ^ { 2 } - 4 a } } { 2 a }{/tex}
{tex}x = \frac { 7 \pm \sqrt { ( - 7 ) ^ { 2 } - 4 ( 2 ) ( 3 ) } } { 2 \times 2 } \Rightarrow x = \frac { 7 \pm \sqrt { 9 - 24 } } { 4 }{/tex}
{tex}\Rightarrow x = \frac { 7 \pm 5 } { 4 }{/tex}
{tex}\Rightarrow x = \frac { 7 + 5 } { 4 } , \frac { 7 - 5 } { 4 }{/tex}
{tex}\Rightarrow{/tex} x =3, ½
