First, assume the hydrocarbon is CxHy. Find the Mr, so that we can find the value of x. With Mr and x, we can find the value of y. So the molecular formula of the hydricarbon compund is C6H12.
Remember some formulas:
n = m/Mr
molecules = n x 6.02 x 1023
Mr = molecular mass
Ar = atomic mass. Ar C = 12, Ar H = 1
