लेखक के अनुसार, जीवन में 'सुख' का अभिप्राय केवल उपभोग-सुख नहीं है। परन्तु आजकल लोग केवल उपभोग के साधनों को भोगने को ही 'सुख' कहने लगे है। विभिन्न प्रकार के मानसिक, शारीरिक तथा सूक्ष्म आराम भी 'सुख' कहलाते हैं।
