Thus,
Let the original bill = y Rs.Therefore, Original amount+ 20% fine = 28363.20=> y + 20% of y = 28363.20=> y + 20100× y = 28363.20=> 120100× y = 28363.20=> 65× y = 28363.20=> y = 28363.20×65=> y = 23636Rs.Now,=> 1910+71×x=23636=> 71×x=23636−1910=> 71×x=21726=> x=2172671=> x=306
So, the Former reading of the meter was = 4777 - 306 = 4471 units.All the best :−)...
