Bcoz all the reactions after fertilization and zygote formation occur in ovum, and sperms easily travel in small size that's why

-Its the other way the sperm is very small as compared to the egg as it needs to be light so it can travel to the egg - The sperm only has mitochondria, but the egg has other organelles also. These are the reason why ovum is very large in comparison to sperm
