An example of a redox reaction is: PbO ( s ) Lead oxide + H 2 ( g ) Hydrogen → Pb ( s ) Lead + H 2 O ( l ) Water. In the above reaction, hydrogen is oxidized to water and lead oxide is reduced to lead.
