(i) Yes. It is possible to construct a triangle with lengths of its sides 8cm, 7cm and 4cm because the sum of two sides of a triangle is greater than the third side.

(ii) Yes. It is possible to construct a triangle with lengths of its sides 6cm, 6cm and 6cm because the sum of two sides of a triangle is greater than the third side.

(iii) No. It is not possible to construct a triangle with lengths of its sides 4cm, 4cm and 8cm because the sum of two sides is not greater than the third side i.e. 4 + 4 is not greater than 8.

(iv) Yes. It is possible to construct a triangle with lengths of its sides 3cm, 5cm and 7cm because the sum of two sides of a triangle is greater than the third side.

 L.C.M of 5 and 7 is 35.

⇒ 2/5 = 2×7/5×7 = 14 /35.

⇒ 3/7 = 3×5/7×5 = 15/35.

By multiplying the numerator and denominator of 14/35 and 15/35 by 4.

⇒ 14/35 = 14 × 4 /35 × 4 = 56/140

⇒15/35 = 15×4 / 35 × 4 = 60 / 140.

Three rational numbers = 57/140 , 58/140 ,59/140.

Note : There are infinite rational or irrational numbers between two numbers.

Let the total no.of students in the school Number of students who passed Handi =90% of x Number of students who passed maths =85% of x And the number of students who passed handi and maths =150 N(A or B) =N(A)+N(B)- N (A and B) let the number of students be x 100%×=90%×+85%×-150 ×=9×+.85×-150 -.75×=-150 ×=200

Yogita Ingle 4 years, 11 months ago

Let the total no. of students in the school= x

Number of students who passed Hindi= 90% of x

Number of students who passed Maths= 85% of x

and Number of students who passed both Hindi & Maths=150

N( A or B) = N(A) + N(B) - N(A and B)

let the number of students be x

100% x = 90%x + 85% x - 150
x = .9x + .85x - 150
- .75x = -150
x = 200

There are 200 students in the school

Formula for Simple Interest

Simple interest is calculated by multiplying the interest rate by the principal amount and the time period which is generally in years. The S.I. formula is given as:

Simple Interest (SI) = P × T × R ⁄ 100

After the calculation for S.I. is done, the principal has to be added to it to get the total amount that the borrower has to give or the lender will collect. This is called total amount and its formula is given as:

A = P + S.I.

Notations in S.I. Formula:

S.I. Simple Interest
P Principal Amount
A Total Amount
R Rate of Interest
T Time (in Years)

30+80=110 180 - 110= 70

Yogita Ingle 4 years, 11 months ago

Two angles of a triangle are 30°and 80°.

Sum of angles of triangle = 180°

30° + 80° + third angle = 180°

110° +third angle = 180°

third angle = 180° - 110°

= 70°

Gaurav Seth 4 years, 11 months ago

Let the third angle be x.

80 + 3 0 + x = 180 degrees.

Because we know that sum of all angles in a triangle is 180.

=> 1 1 0 + x = 1 8 0
=>x=180-110.
=>x=70 degrees.

Linear pair is a pair of two supplementary angles. But two supplementary angles might or might not form a linear pair, they just have to "supplement" each other, that is their sum should be 180o.

There are four linear pairs formed by two intersecting lines.
Each pair form supplementary angles because their sum is 180o.

There might be two angles that sum up to 180o, but that do not form a linear pair. For example, two angles in a parallelogram that share a common side.

Algebra is a branch of mathematics that uses letters. Letters allow us to write formulas, rules as well as define unknown quantities. Thus, these letters can represent variables. A variable means something that can vary and can change. The value of a variable that can satisfy an equation is called solution of the equation.
