Which is in the the form of p/q,,,,,where q should not equal to 0
A rational number is a number that can be named in the form a/b where a and b are integers and b≠0. Thus, each of the numbers 5/6,-6/11,6/-17 is a rational number.

Yogita Ingle 5 years ago

A rational number, in Mathematics, can be defined as any number which can be represented in the form of p/q where q ≠ 0. Also, we can say that any fraction fits under the category of rational numbers, where denominator and numerator are integers and the denominator is not equal to zero.

fraction is numerical value that is a part of a whole. It is evaluated by dividing a whole into number of parts. For example, ½ represents half of a whole number or a thing.

A fraction (from Latin fractus, "broken") represents a part of a whole or, more generally, any number of equal parts. When spoken in everyday English, a fraction describes how many parts of a certain size there are, for example, one-half, eight-fifths, three-quarters.
