n m + m n = mn m 2 +n 2 = mn (m+n) 2 −mn ⇒ n m + m n = mn (m+n) 2 −1.....(1) Given that m and n are the zeroes of the polynomial 3x 2 +11x−4. Therefore, Sum of zeroes =m+n=− a b =− 3 11 Product of zeroes =mn= a c = 3 −4 ∴ n m + m n = ( 3 −4 ) ( 3 −11 ) 2 −1=− 16 121 −1=− 16 137 Hence the value of n m + m n wil be − 16 137 .
