20m/s , When common sense is not common then peoples use formula you can directly imagine that there is g downward (10)/s ,so 2 sec me g ball ko apni tarf kichega 20 m/s se so 40-20=20m/s hua directly.

v=u+at v= 40+ (-g)(2) v=40-20 v=20m/s
