Phosphorus is a 15th group element and it forms the most stable pentavalent compound like P2​O5​. because available of d-electrons. Also, on moving down the group, the stability of the +5 oxidation state decreases. 

 

Thus, phosphorus form the most stable pentavalent compounds.
