Let the two no.s be x and y Then Acc. to the question, x+y=43 - eq. 1 And then Let the larger be x Acc. to the question 2x-3y=36 - eq. 2 Multiplying both the sides of eq. 1 by - 3, we get - 3x+3y= 129 3x+3y= 129 2x-3y=36 5x=165 x = 33 x+y = 43 33+y=43 y= 43 - 33 y= 10 Therefore, x = 33 y = 10
