Lencho's crops were ready for harvest. As raindrop would have helped in getting a better harvest, resulting in more prosperity, so Lencho compared them with new coins.

See the easy answer is Lencho refers raindrop as a new coin because every drop of rain was as precious as rain he uses the word new coin to express his idea that every raindrop would help him to have a good harvest and in turn it will fetch him good money thats all

Lencho is a "farmer" and he depends on rain for farming. He compares the raindrops with the new coins because the raindrops help him to grow and harvest the crops and it will also help Lencho to get more money which in turn enriches his lifestyle. So in order to get more money he should harvest the crops correctly.
