f(x)=y=ax+b. _(1) On taking (1,1) and putting it in y=ax+b ,then 1=a×1+b a+b=1. - (2) Now taking (0,-1)and putting it in y=ax+b,then -1=a×0+b b=-1 Putting the value of b in equation (2),then a+(-1)=1 a-1=1 a=1+1 a=2
