Oxidation: The reaction which involves addition of oxygen (or) removal hydrogen or increase in the oxidation state of central atom is called oxidation reaction.
Ex:
(i) Formation of rust on the Metal surface.
(ii) Burning of Fuels.
(iii) Burning of Carbon.
(iv) Burning of Hydrocarbons.
(v) House-hold aluminum utensils over period of time undergoes oxidation process.
