Lanthanoid contraction is the decrease in size of lanthanoids. REASON: reason for this is that when we move from left to right in lanthwnoid series the atomic no. increases by 1 in each element. The atoms are added in same principle shell so nuclear charLl yu increases. Due to which the atomic and ionic radii decreases.
