x=2y-1
x - 2y = -1 ......... (i)
y=5-3x
3x + y = 5 ......... (ii)
multiply (ii) by 2
6x + 2y = 10 ......... (iii)
Adding (i) and (iii)
x - 2y + 6x + 2y = -1 + 10
7x = 9
x = 9/7
Put x = 9/7 in  y = 5 -3x
y = 5 - 3(9/7)
y = 5 - 27/7
= (35 - 27)/7
= 8/7
