Lipids and proteins constituting the cell membrane are synthesised in the endoplasmic reticulum. SER (Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum) hepls in the manufacturing of lipids. RER (Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum) has particles attached to its surface, called ribosomes. The attched ribosomes make proteins that will be used inside the cell and proteins made for export out of the cell
