    Method of giving bye :- Firstly calculate the total no. Of bye given by subtracting it from the nearest power of 2 (2,4,8,16,32,64.....) If there are 9 teams Then, no. Of bye = 16-9=7 bye Then decide the total teams in two halves 1.upper half 2.lower half No. of team in upper half =no. of team +1/2 No. of team in lower half =no. of team -1/2 Let the total no of team is 9 No. Of team in upper half =5 No of team in lower half =4 Then the 1st bye is given to lowest team of lower half 2nd bye to top team of upper half 3rd bye to top team of lower half 4th bye to lower team of upper half And so on
