When an air bubble rises in water what happens to its potential energy?

Potential energy of air bubble decreases, because work is done by upthrust on the bubble.
work done = - (change in potential energy )
here bubble rise due to net force(buoyancy force , gravitational force, drag force which is negligible) so work done by this net force is positive since force and displacement is in the same direction. so change in P.E. is negative, this means potential energy is decreasing
